World Metrology Day

May 20 is World Metrology Day, commemorating the anniversary of the signing of the Metric Convention of 1875, which provides the basis for a worldwide uniform measurement system.

May 20th is World Metrology Day, commemorating the anniversary of the signing of the Metric Convention of 1875, which provides the basis for a global unified measurement system on which scientific discoveries and innovations, industrial production and international trade, as well as improvements in quality of life and environmental protection are based.

The theme for World Metrology Day 2021 is Measurement for Health. This topic was chosen in order to raise awareness of the important role of metrology in the field of health care, and thus for the health of each of us.
