Information about OIML Certification System

The OIML Certificate System for Measuring Instruments was introduced to facilitate administrative procedures and lower the costs associated with the international trade in global scale of measuring instruments in regulated areas, which are subject to national legal requirements.Certification system aims to make the type approval process easier for manufacturers and metrological authorities by eliminating the need for duplication of type approval process and repeating of costly testing procedures.

Slovak Legal Metrology is Issuing Authority SK1 within OIML Basic Certification System for the OIML R 49 (water meters), OIML R 76 (non-automatic weighing instruments) and OIML R 117/R 118 (measuring systems for liquids other than water and fuel dispensers). Slovak Legal Metrology is also an Issuing Participant within the OIML MAA Certification System for OIML R 76 (non-automatic weighing instruments).
