The neural network as an element of artificial intelligence has currently an application "boom". It is used in whole industry, including metrology. The neural network can be used as a classifier that can determine the condition of a designated measuring instrument (with a certain probability) between verifications based on simple tests, without measurement standard.

Slovak legal metrology has a rich database of verifications, which are used to neural network training. A well-trained neural network can be helpful for a customer looking for a diagnostic procedure for their measurement instrument without measurement standard.
