Automation
One of the current trends in any field of industry is automation. Slovak legal metrology, n. o. and the field of metrology in general are no exception. We automatize processes which are connected with calibration and verification. It brings key benefits such as shortening test time what leads to reducing downtime, to improve the repeatability of measurement, eliminating the subjective factor of engineers and consequent increasing of confidence in measurement results. To achieve this goal, where measurement systems are not commercially available, SLM n.o. develops its own, unique measurement standard.
An example of a unique device is a measuring system for verifying level gauge meters. It is a portable device that allows to perform verification or calibration in the laboratory as well as directly at the customer’s site. Thanks to a control algorithm based on a PD controller and tuned by Ziegler - Nichol’s method, it is possible to automate the process of calibration or verification.
